CONDITIONS TO APPLY FOR POLISH VISA

PHOTOS
All applicants for Polish Visas, the photographs attached to the Visa Application Forms must meet the following requirements:

1.
Size: 3.5 x 4.5 cm.
2.
The photograph must be in colour, sharp, clean and with appropriate contrast.
3.
Printed on high quality paper with light background.
4.
Taken not earlier than 6 months from the date of application, enabling an easy identification of the applicant.
5.
Facing the camera, showing clearly the eyes and both sides of the face from the top of the head upto the upper part of the shoulders. The face should occupy 70-80% of the photograph area.
6.
There should be no headgear, the photographed person should look ahead with his/her lips closed
7.
Hair must not cover the face.

In the case of persons wearing glasses:

1
No dark lenses.
2
The frame must not cover any part of the eye.
3
There should be no light reflexes.

In the case of persons wearing headgear of religious nature:

1
Chin, forehead and both the cheeks have to be clearly visible.
2
There should be no shades on the face resulting from wearing the headgear.

The photographs meeting the above requirements will be accepted at the Consulate General of the Republic of Poland in Mumbai

TIME TAKEN TO ISSUE VISA

All the Indian Passport holders applying for Polish visas at the Consulate of Poland in Mumbai are kindly advised to plan their visit to Poland and submit complete application together with passport, well in advance in order to enable the Consulate to carry out the required altered procedure smoothly and without any unduly delay. Such procedure in most of the cases will not exceed 10 working days.

INSURANCE
Any Indian National applying for Polish visa will have to submit along with the visa application form, passport and other required documents, OVERSEAS MEDICAL TRAVEL INSURANCE for the period of staying in Poland applied for.The original of the Overseas Medical Insurance will be requested by the Polish Border Guard (Straz Graniczna) and will have to be produced upon arrival at the Polish frontier post.

Travelling with € 10,000 or more in cash
All travellers entering or leaving the EU with € 10,000 or more in cash must declare the sum to Customs in order to comply with European Regulation (EC) No 1889/2005 applicable from 15 June 2007. This initiative is introduced for the purposes to assist the efforts made at EU level to tackle crime and improve security by cracking down on money laundering, terrorism and criminality.

The Family Members of the holders of long-term visas with the right to work
The family members of the holders of long-term visas with the right to work in the territory of the Republic of Poland, that the said family members are entitled only to the short-term visas with validity upto 90 days.
Subsequently, the said family members are entitled to apply for a residential permit in Poland, provided that the application for the same is submitted to the Polish authorities not later than 45 days before the expiry of the valid visa, as per Art. 61, item 1 of the Act on Aliens of 13 June 2003 (Journal of Laws of 2003 No. 128, item 1175).

Family Members of an EU citizens who are non - EU nationals
In accordance with the European Parliament and the Council directive (2004/38/EC) of 29th April 2004 on the rfights of EU citizens and their family members to move and reside freely within all Member States, family members of an EU citizen who are non EU nationals shall not be required to pay the visa fees.

Student Visas ( to study Polish language and / or to study any other subject in Poland )
With regard to any application for Visa to Poland, including applications for Student Visas ( to study Polish language and / or to study any other subject in Poland ) there is no intermediary - individual / organization / body / company - which has the right to claim any association whatsoever with the Consulate General of the Republic of Poland in Mumbai regarding visa procedures, visa applications or any visa-related matter.

Incoming Accession of the Republic of Poland to the Schengen group
With the incoming accession of the Republic of Poland to the Schengen group of countries from December 21, 2007, visas issued by this consulate upto December 21, 2007 shall entitle their holders to enter the territory of the Republic of Poland only, irrespective of the validity period of these visas, which may extend beyond December 21, 2007. No Courier Service
Any one sending passport by courier/register post for visa, will not be accepted.

IMPORTANT NOTE:
The final decision allowing a foreigner to enter to Poland is taken by a “Straz Graniczna” (Polish Border Guard) commander of the particular border pass sentinel.


The Visa Fees
Indian Citizens Applying For All Kinds Of Polish Visas Shall Pay by pay order/demand draft only, favouring "The Consulate General of the Republic of Poland in Mumbai", The Visa Fees Amounting To: Rs.3383/- only

Persons exepted from paying visa fees:

  Schengen Visas

Children below 6 years of age.

Pupils, students, postgraduate students and teachers who accompany them, where the purpose of visit is to study.
 
3.
Third countries scientists traveling to EU for the purpose of carrying the scientific research.
     
II
  Polish Visas
 
1
Persons availing of a scholarship for high school and university studies as well as for training at the research and development centres in Poland.
 
2
Persons participating in conferences, scientific symposiums, Polish language courses, celebrations of anniversaries of important events and other events organized by the Polish government administration organs.
 
3
Family members of nationals of the European Union Member states (Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Swseden, United Kingdom), nationals of Swiss Confederation or nationals of the non-EU European Economic Area states (Norway and Iceland).

Minors, school and university students upto the age of 26 years avail of 25% discount, i.e. visa fee amounts to Rs.2537/-.

REQUIREMENTS

Visa Application Guidelines for all types of Visas:

  • Passport should be valid, minimum for 3 months after the expiry of the proposed visa.
  • Visa application form duly attested by the Consulate General of the Republic of Poland in Mumbai, should be used.
  • One form for one person (also in the event that the visa is to include a minor or another person recorded in the applicant's passport) and only one recent photo (within last six months) passport size to be pasted.
  • Visa application form should be filled clearly readable, TYPE WRITTEN only.
  • All questions should be answered without keeping any line blank.
  • The particulars of any dependent included in the passport should be filled in the visa application form.
  • Marital status should be clearly declared.
  • No corrections or overwriting on the form. Such forms will not be accepted.

The documents mentioned for different types of visas do not form an exhaustive list. If necessary, applicant might be requested to bring additional documentation or to appear for a personal interview.


Visitor's Visa

This visa entitles its holder to enter the territory of the Republic of Poland without the right of undertaking employment or any other work for pay, subject to further stipulations of this paragraph.

The visa is issued for a specified term of stay mentioned in the visa application form. During the visa's validity, the holder may extend his/her stay in Poland itself at "Provincial Governor's Office" (Urzad Wojewodzki) as per prevailing regulations.

This visa gives the holder the right to enter and to an uninterrupted stay or a number of subsequent stays in the Republic of Poland. In the case of short-stay visa, the duration of stay should not exceed three months during the visa's validity period of maximum six months, calculated from the day of first entry to Poland. In the case of long-stay visa these periods are one year and five years respectively.

The visa may entitle its holder to single , double or multiple entries into the Republic of Poland. It specifies the deadline by which the entry into Poland should take place and the length of the visit. It may also specify the place where the frontier is to be crossed, the purpose of the visit as well as other terms and conditions. The holder's visit to the Republic of Poland may not exceed the period specified in the visa.

With reference to the Ruling dated 29.09.2003 of the Minister of Interior and Administration of Poland regarding the amounts of financial means and the documents certifying the same required to be held by a foreigner entering the territory of the Republic of Poland, The Consulate General of Poland in Mumbai wishes to remind the applicants for Polish Visa about the following:

All foreigners entering the territory of the Republic of Poland should have sufficient financial means to cover expenses such as lodging, food, travel and exit from Poland during the proposed stay:

Currency requirements: PLN 100 per day, no less than PLN 500, except in transit - PLN 300. Persons under 16 years of age, require half of the amount.

The equivalent amount in convertible currency has to be produced upon arrival at the Polish frontier post in cash or as one of the following documents proving the above:

  1. Traveler's cheques
  2. Internationally recognized Credit Card
  3. Original of invitation ("Zaproszenie" in Polish language) issued by the local authorities in Poland

Aliens entering the Republic of Poland should hold and produce on request made by an authorized body, the necessary means to cover the costs of entering staying and exiting the Republic of Poland (which, in particular, may take the following form: Polish currency, foreign convertible currency, a document confirming reservation and the payment of board and lodging costs in Poland).

Even though a Polish visa is held, the Commander of a frontier check post (“Straz Graniczna”) has the right to refuse to grant entry into the Republic of Poland to an alien, especially if there is a threat to national security or if the actual purpose of entry varies from the one declared in the visa application.

These visas are issued by the Consulate General of the Republic of Poland in Mumbai, with jurisdiction over the applicant's place of residence.

Types of Visitor's Visas

For Business purposes

In case of business visit:
follow visa application guidelines and enclose following:

  • Covering Letter - should contain short information about the Company and about the transaction with the Polish Company, alongwith the statement regarding the purpose of current visit to Poland.
  • Photocopy of the latest correspondence.
  • Invitation should contain passport details of the applicant and the fax copy from Poland should be sent

    directly to the applicant (could be in English Language)

    directly from Poland (in Polish language only) to the Consulate General of the Republic of Poland in Mumbai on Fax. No. 00 91 22 23633376 or by email as an attachment duly signed on email address: visas@polishconsulate.com
                
  • Confirmed ticket for Poland or visa of the country from where entering to Poland by surface or by air.
  • If all the documents are in order visa will be processed and the decision will be communicated in a shortest possible period of time.

For Private Visit purposes

In case of private visit :
follow visa application guidelines and enclose following:

  • A special invitation ("ZAPROSZENIE" in Polish language) in original, issued by the local authorities in Poland (Urzad Wojewodzki) on the request of inviting party in Poland, has to be submitted together with the visa application form and with the passport.
  • Employment information with relevant documents and the details of itinerary.
  • If the documents are in order visa will be processed and the decision will be communicated in a shortest possible period of time.

Format of “ZAPROSZENIE”

For Tourist purposes

In case of Tourist visas :
follow visa application guidelines and submit with following enclosure:

  • Request letter from the applicant for visa.
  • Employment information with relevant documents and the details of itinerary.
  • Hotel booking fax directly from Poland to the Consulate General of the Republic of Poland in Mumbai on Fax. No. 00 91 22 23633376 or by email as an attachment duly signed on email address: visas@polishconsulate.com
  • After submitting visa application forms with passports, the decision for granting visa will be communicated in a shortest possible period of time.

Visa with the Right of Employment

The visa with the right of employment entitles its holder to undertake employment in the Republic of Poland. The aliens who have obtained a clearance for the Work Permit in the Republic of Poland, or who can produce a document stating that such a clearance or permit is not required, can apply for the visa with the right of employment.

The visa with the right of employment is issued by the Consulate General of the Republic of Poland in Mumbai with jurisdiction over the alien's place of residence. In the event that the alien has extended the validity period of Work Permit or other document entitling him/her to undertake work in the Republic of Poland, but where the first visa was issued for a period shorter than 90 days, the interested party may apply during the visa's validity period to the Provincial Governor (Wojewoda) with jurisdiction over the alien's place of employment, for another visa with the right of employment.
 

Application for Visa with the Right of Employment
follow visa application guidelines and submit with following enclosures:

  • Clearance of Work Permit obtained from the Provincial Governor's Office in Poland or other document entitling the alien to apply for the visa with the right of employment.
  • CV and documents showing previous employments.
  • Professional and academic qualifications.
  • Appointment Letter (fax copy) - directly from Poland to the Consulate General of the Republic of Poland in Mumbai on Fax. No. 00 91 22 23633376
  • If the documents are in order visa will be processed and the decision will be communicated in a shortest possible period of time.

The family members of the holders of long-term visas with the right to work in the territory of the Republic of Poland, that the said family members are entitled only to the short-term visas with validity upto 90 days. Subsequently, the said family members are entitled to apply for a residential permit in Poland, provided that the application for the same is submitted to the Polish authorities not later than 45 days before the expiry of the valid visa, as per Art. 61, item 1 of the Act on Aliens of 13 June 2003 (Journal of Laws of 2003 No. 128, item 1175).

Airport Visa

In case of Airport visas :
follow visa application guidelines and submit with the following enclosures:

  • Request letter from the applicant for visa.
  • Visa of the destination country.
  • Onward confirmed ticket.
  • If the documents are in order visa will be processed and the decision will be communicated in a shortest possible period of time.

Its holder is entitled to enter and to stay within the Transit Area of the International Airport. It will be granted to an applicant who can prove that the stay within the Transit Ares of the International Airport is necessary in order to enabling him/her to continue the air travel.

Transit Visas

In case of Transit visas :
follow visa application guidelines and submit with the following enclosures:

  • Request letter from the applicant for visa.
  • Visa of the destination country.
  • Onward confirmed ticket.
  • If the documents are in order visa will be processed and the decision will be communicated in a shortest possible period of time.

Its holder is entitled to enter and stay for a maximum period of five days in the Republic of Poland whilst proceeding to main destination.
The transit visa can be either one, two or multi-entries.

Student Visas

With regard to any application for Visa to Poland, including applications for Student Visas ( to study Polish language and / or to study any other subject in Poland ) there is no intermediary - individual / organization / body / company - which has the right to claim any association whatsoever with the Consulate General of the Republic of Poland in Mumbai regarding visa procedures, visa applications or any visa-related matter.

Application for Student Visa
follow visa application guidelines and after obtaining the certificate confirming admission to the Polish university or academy, submit with following enclosures:

  • an admission certificate from an university/academy in Poland.
  • confirmation from an university/academy in Poland that the fees are paid should be sent by fax to the Consulate General of the Republic of Poland in Mumbai.
  • all documents confirming the education level of the applicant (Educational documents submitted to the Consulate General of the Republic of Poland in Mumbai, the authenticity of the same should be confirmed by the Ministry of the External Affairs of the Republic of India)
  • all documents confirming the financial status of applicant and his family.
